Get Help · Ask a Question

Have a question about the process, or want to share your story?

This is an educational site. We cannot give you legal advice — but we can point you toward resources, share general information, and listen.

Pick a topic. Keep it general. Do not share confidential details.

You don’t need a lawyer to ask a question. Start by writing it down.

Submissions open your default email client with a pre-filled message. Nothing on this page is transmitted to a server by the site itself — you control the send.

Privacy: Your message is sent using your own email client. We do not sell, share, or publish the content of any submission. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For confidential domestic-violence support, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.

Thanks — your email client should have opened with a pre-filled message. If it didn’t, copy your question into an email to the address shown in the site footer.

Write it down first. Then decide whether to send it to us, to a lawyer, or to yourself a month from now.

Not every question fits a form.

For journalists

If you are reporting on family-law reform, billable-hour economics, or post-judgment modification practice, the authors of this site will correspond with verified journalists and can provide anonymized case materials on request.

For legislators and staff

If you are drafting or considering legislation in any of the reform-agenda areas, we are happy to share plain-language summaries, suggested statutory language, and references for anonymized case patterns.

For family-law professionals

Mediators, parenting coordinators, and reform-minded attorneys are welcome. If you want to submit a resource for consideration on the Resources page, include a short description and your credentialing.

To share your story

We publish anonymized case studies only with explicit written consent and after careful review. If you would like to share your own experience for a future case study, begin with the form above; selecting “I want to share my story” from the topic dropdown.
