My ex took 6 weeks of summer. The decree said we split it. What did you do?
She took the first 3 weeks and the last 3 weeks, leaving me 2 weeks in the middle. Said the kids “wanted to stay longer.” Nothing in the decree gives kids veto power over the schedule…

OFW vs. text messages — which actually holds more weight with a judge?
My parenting plan requires OFW. My ex refuses and only texts. I have 14 months of important communication in text threads and almost nothing in OFW. Will a judge care which platform?

Six months ago I posted here devastated. You all told me to document everything. I just walked out of a hearing. Motion to dismiss denied in full. Here’s what made the difference…

“Courtesy notification” for therapy — is that shared parental responsibility?
Received an OFW message at 8pm: “Courtesy notification — your daughter has a therapy appointment tomorrow.” No therapist name. No discussion. First-ever appointment. Anyone else face this?

⚖ Legal Q&A
What exactly is “good cause” for a continuance? We’re on our third delay.
14 months into a modification case. Their attorney has gotten three continuances. Each reason is vague. Isn’t there a rule requiring actual good cause shown?

Airfare clause in decree — she says her vacation trip “counts.” Does it?
Decree says she contributes to airfare for kids to visit me. She flew down with them, stayed nearby, and I got 3 days out of 7. She says this counts. Anyone dealt with creative interpretations of airfare clauses?

How I built a violation log my attorney called “the most useful document you’ve brought me”
After 18 months of chaos I got organized. Sharing the exact 7-column format I used — and what NOT to include — because nobody should figure this out the hard way.

Child’s phone taken at school on my drop-off morning — two days after I filed an emergency motion
She has never appeared on my drop-off morning before. Not once in 3 years. Two days after my emergency motion was filed, she showed up, took the phone I own and pay for, and drove away.

⚖ Legal Q&A
Does Easter count as a “holiday” if it’s not named in the parenting plan?
Our plan lists specific holidays — Easter isn’t one of them. But it falls at the end of spring break, which IS addressed. My ex has claimed Easter both years by planning around the ambiguity.
